A C a rr M cC uiston, owner of
Atlanta's premier fine craft gallery,
the Signature Shop & Gallery,
incorporates fine craft into her
life every day. "I start the day by
choosing which potters mug I will
use for my morning coffee. W e use
pottery daily to cook and serve our
meals. My wedding ring is one-of-
a-kind, designed and made by a
local jeweler. I collect and decorate
my home with handmade pieces."
McCuiston says her style is driven
by her enjoyment of wearing pieces
that have a connection to the person
who made them. "I love the crazy
fact that artists spend an unbelief
able amount of time making that one
perfect thing, and there will never be
another one just like it."
► D a vid G o o d ro w e , associate dean at the School of Design of SCAD
(Savannah College of Art and Design) Atlanta and former president and
owner of luxury womenswear line David Rodriguez, says his own style is
classic and fun. "I buy what I like and things that make me feel good and
smile. I'm not egotistical, but I don't want to blend in. If you're going to
wear clothes, why not be noticed?" Goodrowe plans to bring his interior
design students to the ACC Atlanta Show to see how craft can inspire ideas
for the interior environment. As an antique-glass collector, Goodrowe has an
appreciation for color, unusual shapes, and textures.
